This article will cover editing an event that has setup/teardown time that overlaps a Spaces Reservation.
When a SignUp event has been created in the system with setup/teardown time, the system allows you or a patron to create a Spaces reservation that has setup/teardown time that overlaps. When you later try to edit the SignUp event, you will receive a conflict error.
Spaces reservations setup/teardown times can overlap other Spaces reservations and SignUp events setup/teardown times. However, when creating a SignUp event with setup/teardown times, it cannot overlap another SignUp event nor Spaces reservation setup/teardown time.
In order to edit a SignUp event that setup/teardown time overlaps a Spaces reservation, it is best to either adjust the setup/teardown time of the SignUp event or of the Spaces reservation.
As an example, a SignUp event is created on August 1, 2023 at 9 AM - 10 AM with a teardown time of 30 minutes. Then a patron or staff member creates a Spaces reservation on August 1, 2023 from 10:30 AM - 11 AM with a setup time of 30 minutes. The reservation will go through and staff can approve this reservation. Then if a staff side user tries to edit that SignUp event, when they click Save, a conflict error will pop up. It is best to change the teardown time to 0 minutes, and add in the Internal Notes or PR Request that there would be a 30 minute teardown time that had to be removed because of conflict of overlapping the Spaces reservation.
